Telehealth benefits also include services furnished by a Blue Cross and Blue Shield designated telehealth provider using a telecommunications system. The telehealth provider will use an audio and video telecommunications system that permits a two-way, real-time communication when qualified care is needed. A member may see a telehealth provider online or by mobile device when care is needed for mental health and substance use care for conditions or symptoms such as anxiety and depression; or help is needed for a general health and wellness concern. A referral or prior approval is not required for services performed by the designated telehealth provider.
